Equipment World, Rock & Dirt
form web alliance
Tuscaloosa, Ala. (July 17, 2002)
–Randall Publishing Co.'s Equipment World, the leading monthly business
journal for construction equipment users, and Rock & Dirt, the leading
buy/sell publication for heavy equipment, are teaming up to provide new
content for the magazines' respective web sites.
The goal of the web alliance is to increase the value and usefulness of
both sites for the publications' online readers.
"We strive to constantly improve the quality and value of our products
and services," Mike Reilly, president and CEO of Randall Publishing, said.
"This alliance will allow our users quicker and more direct access to
free information and special features from Equipment World and Rock &
Dirt."
Equipment World's new home page will have links to Rock & Dirt's equipment
searches and auction calendar, and to weatherTAP.com, an affiliate of
Rock & Dirt. Users will be able to link to Rock & Dirt's equipment searches
directly from Top Bid's auction results and Equipment World's archived
articles. Selected images from weatherTAP.com will also be available on
Equipment World's site.
Rock & Dirt's new home page will feature daily construction news from
Equipment World, as well as links to the Equipment World web site and
selected auction results from Equipment World's affiliate Top Bid. From
Rock & Dirt's equipment search result, users will be able to access Top
Bid's auction results calculator, Equipment World's article archive, and
selected UCC-1 data from Equipment Data Associates, another Equipment
World affiliate.
Equipment World is published monthly by Randall Publishing Company. Launched
in 2000 with free access, www.equipmentworld.com is a news and e-commerce
site for contractors, manufacturers and dealers. Randall also publishes
Top Bid auction results and offers market data through its EDA division.
Rock & Dirt is published by TAP Publishing Company, formed in 1937 in
Crossville, Tenn. The magazine began in 1950 and targets buyers and sellers
of heavy equipment. Launched in 1997 with free access, www.rockanddirt.com
features a searchable database of equipment and upcoming auctions. TAP
also operates weatherTAP.com, a paid subscription service on the Internet
with more than 6,000 weather images updated in real-time. Rock & Dirt
is published three times a month and consists entirely of display and
classified advertising.
