Great American Trucking Show Promotes Alan Sims

TUSCALOOSA, Ala (Nov. 17, 2004) — Randall Publishing has promoted Alan K. Sims from director of event sales and marketing to executive director of the Great American Trucking Show. With nearly 20 years of experience in publishing and trade show management, Sims assumes the responsibility of guiding and growing the tradeshow’s future. “With Alan’s management experience on GATS, coupled with his industry expertise, we’re confident he’ll accelerate the show’s growth ahead of schedule,” says Jeff Mason, Randall Publishing Co. vice president and group publisher. “With the success and progress that we made this past September and the positive comments we have received from our exhibitors and visitors, we are making great strides.”

Mr. Sims will continue to receive the support of GATS General Manager Randy Schwartzenburg to direct the operational aspects of the show. “The Great American Trucking Show is currently the No. 2 tradeshow in the industry with respect to size and attendance,” Sims says. “With our new structure and our team’s abilities, I fully expect to see continued growth and success with the event.”

GATS 2005 will be held on new days and dates: Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 25, 26, 27. “The new dates will enable us to hold the show at the same time each year,” Sims says. “ With the opening day now on Thursday, we have plans to put an emphasis on our fleet attendance the first day of the show.” In addition to his trade show experience, Sims is actively involved in the National Trailer Dealers Association and currently serves as first vice president.
