Peers Recognize Equipment World with Top Award

TUSCALOOSA, ALA. (May, 2007) –For the second year in a row, the editorial staff of Equipment World magazine has won the Construction Writers Association’s oldest and most prestigious award for journalism, the Robert F. Boger Award.

Equipment World received the award for its September 2006 cover story, “Crew Shift,” which covered the realities, opportunities and challenges facing the construction labor force. The Boger award recognizes outstanding editorial in three categories —feature articles, special reports and editorial covering issues of current significance.

“Winning this award truly demonstrates our editorial staff’s dedication and professionalism when dealing with topics of major importance to our industry,” said Gregg Terry, Equipment World publisher.

The award was established in 1975 in honor of Robert F. Boger, a driving force in founding the Construction Writers Association and a noted construction magazine publisher. The CWA was founded in 1958 by a group of professional business press editors and newspaper journalists, writing for and about the construction industry, who recognized the need for a professional organization that would promote editorial excellence.
