A Brief History of Randall-Reilly

The Early Days

Randall-Reilly was started in 1934 by Henry Pettus Randall Jr. It was launched as Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges, a prestigious recognition program that still thrives today.
In 1975 Award Company of America was founded. The following year H. Pettus Randall III took over as president for his father.

Publishing Begins

Randall-Reilly purchased Overdrive in 1986. The next brand to join our ranks was Equipment World, with the next 20 years seeing the additions of brands such as Commercial Carrier Journal, Total Landscape Care, and Truck Parts & Service.

Strategic Growth

Other notable additions included Motor Media in 1990, Northbrook Publishing in 1996, and EDA in 1998. These acquisitions broadened our suite of advertising products, allowing us to offer our clients more marketing value.

Moving toward Data & Technology

In 2002 F. Michael Reilly assumed the role of president and continued the strategic push toward being a data- and technology-driven company. 2004 saw the start of our Recruiting division with the launch of Owner Operator/ Company Driver.

Expanding into Events

While Mike Reilly was president, we added events such as The Great American Trucking Show and acquired eVision Marketing Group.

Onward and Upward!

Brent Reilly took over as president in 2011, pushing forward with his father’s direction. Today our three divisions, Trucking, Recruiting, and Construction, are able to offer our 4000+ clients strategic data, media, and marketing services.
