Construction Equipment Consumption Down 15% in May

In May, consumption of new construction equipment decreased by 14.57% compared to May 2014, continuing a two month downward trend after 15 consecutive months of growth. Year-to-date sales are up 10.7% year-over-year compared to 2014.

Equipment consumption is now 61% of the peak May volume set in 2006 with equipment sales continuing to trend above the March 10-year average.
