Construction Equipment Consumption Up 20% in May

In May, consumption of new construction equipment increased 20.2% compared to April 2013. This continues a trend of May double digit growth year-over-year since 2010. Additionally, in 2014 sales are up 20% year-over-year.

As a result, equipment consumption is now 62.3% of the peak May volume set in 2006. And for the first time since 2008, equipment sales are above the May 10 year average.
