Marketing is constantly changing. There is always some new development that can revolutionize the way you do things. That’s one of the many things which make it such a great career to pursue.

Unlike many careers, marketers are always empowered by some new technology or development. But that also means that you have to stay on top of things. You have to consume content and constantly experimenting to figure out what works and what doesn’t.

In the spirit of constant improvement, here are the 10 must-read blogs that Randall-Reilly employees have bookmarked and read constantly.

1. HubSpot Marketing Blog

 
When it comes to work, the blog I find myself taking notes from is Hubspot’s marketing blog. I can always find great information that pertains to exactly what we are doing within our marketing department here.

They touch on many areas that I feel benefit me as an art director within marketing. I’ve found it to be a great educational source when I’m researching “best-practices” for advertising/design, as well as general marketing research. It’s been a great resource for me, and it’s helped me learn more and more about marketing over the past few years.

Bruce Clay is the authority on SEO. He has been doing SEO since Google was first put online. I trust him more than anyone else in the industry and rely on his knowledge. If I had one blog to read it would be his.

First, their website is beautiful. They’re a content marketing company so they write about that sort of thing. But they also review projects that they like from around the web so you get a lot of variety and some critique, too.

Marketing Profs is a great resource. They have some great writers, and Ann Handley is an early pioneer in the modern field of content marketing. They produce a lot of high-quality content about a number of different marketing topics, including digital, content, email marketing, small business, and optimization.

There are also a lot of other training materials and events that Marketing Profs offers to members. It’s definitely worth a visit.

5. Adobe Digital Marketing Blog

 
Adobe provides a really powerful suite of marketing solutions, including marketing automation tools. Online, they’ve focused on becoming a resource for digital marketers. Their blog is focused on more advanced digital marketing topics, so it isn’t always the best option for an intro to digital marketing. However, it is a great resource for experienced digital marketers.

They touch on a number of topics, including SEO, SEM, data, mobile marketing, and analtyics.

Copyhackers is a Canadian copywriting firm with a strong focus on web copywriting and conversion rate optimization. They’re young and their writing is very laid back and conversational. It makes their content easy to consume. The blog posts are long format, so you don’t have to worry about them glossing over details.

Contently is a big promoter of brand storytelling. Their Content Strategist blog is a great look into how brands are using social media and content marketing to really tell their story. Naturally, they also spend a lot of time talking about new developments, especially on social media.
