Total Landscape Care names editor, managing editor

TUSCALOOSA, ALA. (May 2010) – Total Landscape Care, published by Randall-Reilly, has named Billy R. Sims editor and Jennifer Aldridge managing editor of the magazine.
As an accomplished editor, writer and photographer, Sims comes to Total Landscape Care from a 13-year stint at Cooking Light, one of Time Inc.’s most successful titles. As executive editor of Cooking Light, Sims directed the magazine’s editorial content and led the editorial team in creative planning and development. There he also guided the magazine’s web initiatives, a skill he’s subsequently employed as a freelancer with several clients, including U.S.Harbors.com, a cruising guide for ports of call around America.
At Total Landscape Care, Sims will lead and manage the magazine’s editorial coverage and look, as well as website and research duties. In addition, he’ll oversee ancillary projects including webinars, and successful continuing programs, such as Landscaper of the Year and Chemical Guide Digest.
Aldridge comes to the magazine with varied editorial background, including stints as a reporter for the Coastal Observer Newspaper, Pawleys Island, S.C.; and as a senior writer/editor for the office of the president/communications department of the American Red Cross in Washington, D.C.
At Total Landscape Care, Aldridge will manage the production of the magazine, direct contributors, write articles and copy edit.
“We know Billy and Jenny take our editorial mission to heart, and that they will continue to make Total Landscape Care an information-packed must-read for our readers,” says Marcia Gruver, editorial director of Randall-Reilly’s Construction Division.
Founded in 2006, Total Landscape Care goes to more than 74,000 landscaping professionals across the nation, showcasing information on maintenance, hardscaping, equipment and chemicals, plus examining green industry issues.
